Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of fiscal policy and monetary policy in overcoming poverty in the province of North Sumatera from 1996 to 2018. The variables of the fiscal policy observed were unemployment and investment, while the observed monetary policy variables were inflation. Besides, the study was observed also variable economic growth, population, and income regional native (PAD). By using the model of Two-Stage Least Square (TSLS), the results of fiscal policy and monetary policy are effective in overcoming poverty in the province of North Sumatera are characterized by significant coefficient value.
