Abstract

In improving the quality of the community in Lau Gumba Village, KARO Regency as one of the tourist destinations in North Sumatra, it is necessary to have a more in-depth review of the education of Reading Houses in Lau Gumba Village, so that the impact of the results of the education can improve the ability of the community. in reading interest in Lau Gumba Village, KARO Regency. To support the reading interest program, a resource sharing-based design and analysis is needed by using a Web Based Learning approach as an educational model using a web application. The Reading House in Lau Gumba Village has not been fully utilized as a place to increase the love of reading. The Reading House located in Lau Gumba Village is now used as a place for recreation, a place for discussion, socializing and counseling for the surrounding community. The use of the Reading House which does not yet represent the function of the village library is due to the limited quantity and quality of the books being collected, the lack of educational toys and the absence of volunteer tutors for learning companions for the community and children in Lau Gumba Village. The purpose of this research is to increase people's interest in reading to reading houses in Lau Gumba Village as education and information based on Resource Sharing with a Web Based Learning model.
