Abstract

The Mosque Youth Association (IRM) as a form of Non-formal Education / Out-of-School Education of a religious nature has an important role in fostering adolescent morals. In the midst of the decline in moral values among adolescents, which is characterized by the rampant drug abuse, the large number of teenagers who drop out of school, and the high crime rate, a formula is needed to overcome this because formal education alone is not enough as a preventive. Out-of-school education of a religious nature can be used as a solution for moral development among adolescents in the wider community. The Gemar Mosque Youth Association located in The Hero Village, Tanjung Tiram District, Batubara Regency, is one of the non-formal educational institutions that has been running with a variety of religious activities that provide a good role in efforts to foster adolescent morals. Through religious activities in the form of learning tahsin and tahfizh of the Quran which are carried out every time the maghrib prayers are completed, regular recitation of teenagers every week, commemoration of Islamic holidays and so on can be used as a forum for fostering adolescent morals. The purpose of this study is to find out how the role and methods carried out by the Gemar Mosque Youth Association in an effort to foster adolescent morals in The Hero Village, Tanjung Tiram District, Batubara Regency. The type of research used in this study is descriptive qualitative which aims to obtain and describe information according to what is happening in the field with what it is.
